B Operational (operated as “Swissport PIMs”) specifically supports planning within budget constraints and estimates dimensions by delivering information on a highly detailed single flight event level, using the current flight schedule.
With very short update intervals, the following benefits can be derived from using PIMs for production planning:

  • More complex analysis methods are possible by being able to use more fine tuned planning parameters
  • Increased update cycles within the planning process
  • Being able to operate on a much broader data basis with more accurate data

BEONTRA’s planning module was implemented for Swissport Zurich in 2008 and is used across Swissport’s Central European stations. A further rollout to Swissport’s worldwide stations is anticipated.

“BEONTRA supports Swissport in the daily task of optimizing operational planning. The resulting savings in effectively planning for Swissport’s mobile resources due to an optimized resource planning are substantial.”

Simon Schmid, Senior Manager Business Engineering & Reporting, Swissport Zurich

“The latest version of the system allows Swissport to work with data from the real time airport system. This further improves the forecast quality and reliability of the data.”

Marco Weber, Manager Operations Systems, Swissport Zurich
